THE HERMITAGE

While in Nashville, we toured the Hermitage, the house of former President Andrew Jackson. His wife was quite the gardener. Her garden was beautiful and attracted many butterflies.

Strange story about her. She had been divorced before marrying Andrew Jackson, however, apparently it was not final when they married, so he married her again when they found out the mistake. This “mistake” haunted him when he was about to become president and his opponents brought this up. It so upset her, that she died suddenly of heart complications. She never made it to the white house and he never got his inauguaration dance with her.

She was buried in this beautiful garden. This garden is a photographer’s dream, a must see for anyone in the Nashville area.
